Tim Bevans - Governor

Tim is CEO of a local charity, Action for Carers (Surrey) that helps Surrey’s unpaid carers, aged 5-95, providing advice, support, information and activities. His team includes specialist staff supporting young carers and young adult carers making their way through education and into work.  Tim is also a board member of the Surrey VCSE Alliance, representing the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector and working across the Surrey system to improve health and wellbeing outcomes, ensuring local people’s needs are met and voices are heard.

Prior to joining the charity sector Tim had over 25 years’ leadership experience in Further Education (FE).  In his previous role with the Education and Training Foundation he set-up and led a national team working across the FE sector to improve the quality of teaching, learning and leadership, and prior to that has was a senior leader working in large, multi-site FE providers.  Tim is a former school governor and trustee of White Lodge, a charity supporting people with disabilities.
