East Surrey College and John Ruskin College are proud to support Croydon Council’s initiative, the Croydon Apprenticeship Academy’s ‘100 in 100’ campaign!
Croydon Apprenticeship Academy connects businesses and training providers with people who are interested in starting an apprenticeship.
Running for 100 days, from 5 August – 20 December, the campaign aims to get 100 people into Apprenticeships across the Croydon Council borough.
Croydon Council will be working with a range of training providers to create quality job roles and recruit local candidates. Apprenticeships are becoming an increasingly popular path for anyone over 16, as a way for them to learn on the job skills, whilst being paid a salary.
Hear what some East Surrey College Apprentices say about their chosen pathway:
An Apprenticeship is definitely not the easy route, but it’s so worth it. I love being practical and it gives me the chance to go out and get different projects done!”
Liberty, Engineering Apprentice
“An Apprenticeship opens up work from a different angle. The role gives me a great mixture of office-based and site work, it’s brilliant!”
Rochelle, Construction HNC Apprentice
“it’s more beneficial – I’m learning more techniques and specific terms than we do in a classroom.”
Ethan, Plumbing Apprentice
“You have to be open-minded and take into account that it’s not going to be the same as college - you will be challenged a lot more than you would in a classroom.”
Amber, Business Admin Apprentice
