Bringing New Life to the ESC Garden

We welcomed chefs Jason and Lawrence, members of the Royal Navy, who came in and set a ‘Ready Steady Cook’ themed challenge with our Level 2 Public Services students and Levels 1 and 2 Sports students.
With a selection of random ingredients, students were tasked to team up and create a delicious main course and dessert within a short time frame, focusing on their time management and presentation skills.
Students produced a wide range of tasty chicken stir-fry dishes, curries and delicious fruit pot desserts.
The session provided a useful insight into what to expect in the Royal Navy and the pressures the chefs face when travelling around the world. Students also had the opportunity to find out about the various career options available, and have their questions answered by the professionals themselves!
