A prestigious exhibition at OXO Tower Wharf? Or the launch of your own children’s book?
These are just two exciting examples of success stories from Reigate School of Art Students.
ESC's published author!
Alumni student Sophie Shortland (Foundation Art & Design) recently celebrated the launch of her book, ‘Alienated’, at Reigate Library. The book, which is available on Amazon and at Waterstones, tackles the subject of autism in children.
Sophie, an illustration student at Norwich University, said she hopes that “[her] book can change the perception of autism and help people to empathise with sufferers.” She commented that the course at ESC gave her “the opportunity to explore other creative options and diversify [her] portfolio.”

Students' work displayed at UAL Origins Creative Arts Festival
The Origins Festival, held at OXO Tower Wharf in London, and now in its eighth year, hosts a selection of work from disciplines including art, design, fashion, creative media and music. It celebrates work from students undertaking UAL Awarding Body qualifications at 200+ institutions nationwide. Work was submitted from Levels 1-3 and the Level 4 Foundation Diploma at East Surrey College, with pieces from all Levels selected for display, amongst hundreds of other high-quality pieces of work.
Success continued for student Jake Kevlin, Art, Design & Media Level 1, who was selected as one of 12 national winners! His digital print 'Smile', "focusses on the camera as object" and is featured below, pictured at the exhibition.
Creative Media - Film & TV student Olivia was also selected to have her film shown at the exhibition. The short film 'Skye' reveals the dangers of the internet for young children, and can be watched here.
