Celebrating Colleges Week
20/10/2021
Date: 22 August 2021
Our first group of graduates from our BA (Hons) Make-Up, Special Effects & Hair for Media & Performance celebrated the completion of their course with a graduation ceremony at the University of Chichester, the awarding university for our Foundation and Degree programmes. The College works in partnership with the West Sussex-based university, meaning students are awarded their professional qualification from the University upon graduating.
Amongst the group of students were Olivia and Amy, who had both started out studying Hair & Media Make-Up Level 2 at the College. Amy has worked for numerous magazine publications and a Netflix drama and recently saw success at the National AHT online competition, where she was Highly Commended in the 1920s Make-Up category. Olivia, along with the other graduates, progressed from our Theatrical, Media & Special Effects Make-Up HND and is excited to start work for MAC as a Make-Up Artist.
Elise, another of our BA graduates, passed the course with First Class Honours and has landed a job at the English National Opera. She has taken part in multiple AHT competitions, placing 3rd in Multi-piece Prosthetics at the 2021 online competition, and winning 1st place in Ladies’ Editorial at the AHT Regionals in 2020.
Our BA (Hons) Make-Up, Special Effects & Hair for Media & Performance is a Level 6 of an undergraduate degree course and provides progression for those who have a Foundation Degree, Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualification, to a BA Honours. Students are taught the specialist skills needed to enter the performance industry working as a make-up or prosthetics artist as well as a hair/wig dresser and maker.
