Certas Energy visit our Engineering students

Engineering and Motor Vehicle students had an insightful talk from Dave Roberts, Castrol Champion and Paul Passmore, Business Account Manager from Certas Energy.

Certas Energy is the largest distributor of fuel and lubricants in the UK.

During the seminar, students learned about the different types of Castrol Oil including GTX, Magnatec and Edge. Students were able to ask questions about their purposes, advantages and how to choose the correct oil for the right car. The three steps are:

1. Ensure you use the correct viscosity index

2. Select the correct ACEA

3. Make sure the engine oil is manufacturer approved

The seminar ended with a short Q&A session and students received a small goody bag.

Motor Vehicle Level 3 student Mo commented: “It was really interesting to learn about the different types of oils and how with the industry changing, oil companies are also making a shift.”
