Feeling Festive in the Salon

Date: 16 December 2019
Construction students on Level 1 courses for Carpentry & Joinery and Painting & Decorating had the chance to visit a local Kier site.
The trip to a project site at The Warwick School in Redhill helped to bring learning to life as they were able to see the theoretical elements of their course in a real-life situation.
The students are currently studying modules that cover Health, Safety & Welfare onsite, as well as principles of building, information and communication. At a live building site, they were able to see how these fit into a working environment.
This was also a great opportunity to learn more about the job roles that are pivotal in each stage of the construction process.
Oliver Barratt, Contracts Manager, at Kier led the visit and commented:
“I would like to say what a pleasure it was to have your students on site yesterday. They were impeccably well behaved and engaging. I am optimistic that their visit was educational and an insight to the industry outside of their chosen subjects. These good folk are the future of the Construction Industry and every encouragement must be provided for them to succeed”
Thanks to Kier for inspiring our students!
