East Surrey College introduces new Diploma in Teaching course launching in 2025

Date: 13 November 2024

At East Surrey College, we are proud to announce the expansion of our Teaching Training Academy with the introduction of a new course, the Diploma in Teaching (DiT) Level 5.

Launching in January 2025, this new qualification has been developed to enable those working or intending to work in the Further Education and Skills (FES) sector to gain a full teaching qualification by offering them a course which is designed to equip them with the advanced skills and expertise required for a career in this field.

The course compliments the College’s current lineup of teaching courses including Award in Education and Training Level 3, Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) Level 3, Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (IQA) Level 4 and Certificate in Education and Training (CET) Level 4.

The addition of the Diploma in Teaching marks a significant step in the College’s commitment to providing flexible and comprehensive training for aspiring and established educators. The benefits of joining our Teacher Training Academy includes: smaller class sizes; excellent facilities; assistance with arranging your placement and good value for money.

This new Level 5 Diploma offers students a deeper understanding of teacher strategies, and other units including Action research, Coaching and Mentoring, Managing Behaviour and Professional Practice, making it ideal for those looking to progress within the education sector.

“We are excited to offer a full pathway for educators with the addition of the Diploma in Training (Level 5) course” said Jose Aguiar, Training and Development Lead. “Our goal is to provide a supportive and thorough learning experience that prepares students for diverse teaching roles and enhances educational quality across Surrey.”
