We are very pleased to announce the completion of our first End Point Assessment (EPA) for the Construction Groundworker Level 2 Apprenticeship. Groundworking includes drainage and other services like water and gas, laying concrete paths, paving and any underground services.
After completing a period of training and producing a portfolio of work evidence, the Apprentice will then be ready for a practical and theory test. ESC are only the third college in the country to have hosted an EPA for Groundworks, so it has involved a huge amount of work and a steep learning curve.
In this case, Reece, who works with a local civil engineering company, was tested on three different tasks: drainage, paving and concreting. Over the period of the three-day test, he worked incredibly hard and in extremely challenging weather conditions at times. His subject knowledge was then tested in a professional discussion, with the Assessor commenting on “his excellent practical work and in-depth knowledge.”
There are three more of these tests taking place in the next few weeks and we are hoping to expand this offer in the future as Apprenticeships involving infrastructure expand.
