Students participate in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Date: 26 September 2024

Raising just over £170, students from our Entry Level 2 and Get Ready courses took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The day before, Get Ready students helped with the set up of the teaching kitchen, including cleaning, putting up decorations and baking. Whilst on the day, the Entry Level 2 students were practicing their customer service skills when serving customers (staff and students) with cake, tea and coffee.

LSK students at the Coffee Morning

A big thank you to McDonalds in Redhill for donating 100 hot cups and lids and Gails in Reigate for donating fresh cakes and sweet treats.

Nickel, McDonalds Business Manager commented: “It is always a pleasure to support the LSK department. We truly appreciate the work they are doing and the positive impact it has on the community.”

Nicola Hoad, Skill Practitioner added: “The students were keen to contribute to Macmillan Coffee Morning,  the enterprise involved many classes, two groups baked upside-down apple cakes and another group showed off their hospitality skills on the day.  I am so proud of the students, they worked brilliantly together to create a very successful coffee morning, raising an impressive £171.00 for Macmillan.”

All proceeds will be donated to Macmillan Cancer support.
