Motorsports Students Visit Mclaren HQ

Three of our Motorsport students were invited to attend the Mclaren Technology Centre, in Woking, Surrey for a ‘Managing Relationships in Motorsport’ training session delivered by Bob Bannister from imanage

The trip was a prize awarded to the students for placing in the top 3 of the Student Motorsport Challenge Championship for the 2023 season. McLaren kindly hosted the event at their F1 base and also provided a tour of the facilities. Part of the tour included being the first members of the public to see the 2024 F1 livery design close up, a history tour of Mclaren and lunch which our students all enjoyed.

Our students also got firsthand experience of what it is like to work in F1 and the advanced manufacturing industry. They came away with appreciation of the dedication and commitment needed to be working in this competitive industry and were given information of the opportunities that McLaren have for apprenticeships and traineeships within the whole organisation.
