Raising Aspirations Week - Day 3
09/10/2019
Date: 10 October 2019
We may be nearing the end of Raising Aspirations Week 2019, but that doesn't mean it's getting any quieter!
It was a busy morning at College, with Gnr Michael da Silva and Danielle Lang from British Army presenting to a busy Auditorium of Public Services, Sport and Business students. They heard about the wide range of roles available, from mechanics to nursing!
We then welcomed Peter Woodroffe, Music Producer and Songwriter from Rising Tide Music, who inspired our Music Level 3 students, advising them to keep up with industry trends and "learn your gear!"
Aviation, Travel & Tourism students heard from Alison and Danny Durling from Border Force, who both told their career journeys and gave an insight into working life at an Airport. Later in the day, the students also welcomed Nicola Jewett, Brand Champion at Jet2, who shared an overview of the company and spoke about roles on offer.
Business Level 3 Year 2 students were also lucky to have two visitors, firstly welcoming back former student Reece Bailey, currently studying Business Management (Entrepreneurship) at the University of Surrey. He spoke about university applications and gave advice on how to make the most of their time at College. They then heard from Danielle Hughes from Plan Insurance who spoke about her journey to a career.
We're looking forward to another day of talks, for the final day of Raising Aspirations Week tomorrow!
