East Surrey College has expanded on its partnership working with RG Group, the main contractor for Redhill’s Warwick Quadrant redevelopment project.
Reigate School of Art, at East Surrey College, is delighted to have been invited by RG Group to design artwork to display on the hoarding surrounding part of Redhill’s Warwick Quadrant. The panels of artwork cover over 60m of hoarding surrounding the construction site where the Sainsbury’s redevelopment is taking place.
RG Group recruited two Construction Apprentices earlier this year to work on the redevelopment project as Trainee Site Managers. East Surrey College has been working with RG Group to deliver the Apprenticeship training programme.
The hoarding is now in place and has created a vibrant backdrop for shoppers and visitors to Redhill. The artwork selected shows the variety of outstanding student artwork created at Reigate School of Art; including photographs, sculpture, printmaking, painting, textiles and installations at the Annual Diploma Show. It is a reflection of the high quality teaching at the College, following the Ofsted Grade 1 (Outstanding) rating in January 2015 for Media and Communication and Visual Arts.
If you are interested in seeing the exciting student work across all areas of Reigate School of Art, this year’s Diploma Show exhibition is open to the public from 16-24 June 2016 (Opening times: Monday-Friday 10:00-16:00, Saturday 10:00-14:00). Or to find out more about all areas of the College and tour the facilities, the next Open Event is on Saturday 18 June 2016, 10:00-14:00. Visitors can pre-register online here.
