Team ESC 2023 Racing Season Comes to a Close

In the fast lane of success, the East Surrey College Racing Team burned rubber throughout the BRSCC Nankang Tyre CityCar Cup Championship, featuring 7 events and 19 intense rounds from April to October. 

Finishing in pole position three times and securing second place twice, our team showcased incredible skill and determination, making waves on the track. This hard work resulted in an overall season finish of second place in the Student Motorsport Challenge and sixth in the championship.

Reflecting on the season, Carl Bundy, Motorsport tutor and new Team Principal for the 2024 season, shared, "It was the first season for our new driver, Jack Wheeler, who delivered a consistently strong performance. Though we were outpaced by Northbrook College, we've set the stage for a thrilling competition next year." 

Carl added, “Working as part of the team is required for all students completing their Motorsport diploma. Students are involved in adding the race kit to the car and tending to the car on race weekends.”  

The team is gearing up for the awards ceremony in December 2023, ready to claim their well-deserved silverware. Next year’s car has arrived, and students are back into the action, stripping it down and preparing it for the next season.
