Police engagement with ESOL students

Students from our Skills for Independence Level 1 course have enjoyed working at stripey stork for the last couple of months. Groups of students have had the opportunity to volunteer their time and expertise to help at the Reigate based baby bank every Thursday.
Whilst at Stripey Stork, students have been involved in a variety of activities including sorting out clothes, toys, and other equipment ready to be donated to families in need. They have also enjoyed finding out more about the world of charity work and gained an understanding of the need for quality control in choosing which items are suitable for donation. This experience has supported our students in developing their teamworking and communication skills outside a College environment.
‘I enjoyed helping clean and pack away stuff knowing it’s going to families.’ Ella
'I enjoyed helping and volunteering at Stripey Stork. It gives me the opportunity to help others that are struggling.’ Jerome
Many thanks to Stripey Stork for making us so welcome and to the Facilities staff for taking students in the minibus every week!
