Former School(s): Oxted School

Lily enjoyed technical subjects at school but initially started her FE journey at Merrist Wood College, studying Dog Grooming. After finishing this course, she decided to return to Art to start exploring more areas.
“I really really enjoyed 3D so wanted to explore this more and the art course looked like it offered a lot more range”
She joined us straight on Level 3, and has particularly enjoyed working on architectural and 3D projects - "I love learning about installation and art, and particularly art based on nature."
Each year, Art & Design Level 3 students take part in the Starpack Packaging Design Awards, and in 2021, Lily was proud to win Bronze in the 'Food-to-Go Packaging' category.
“The College really encouraged us to take part, and it was actually our main project for that year. We had to condense our ideas a lot and my final idea had a better meaning than some of my others!"
As well as Starpack, Lily has taken part in a variety of briefs with her coursemates, including creating lanterns with Same Sky for the Glow Wild trail at Wakehurst. She has also worked with Gibsons Puzzles, redesigning their existing game packaging. For this, Lily employed her 3D skills to create a variety of pieces for the Hare & Tortoise game.
Although she isn't sure exactly which route she wants to go down, Lily loves "the idea of art with a purpose, and in particular architecture and interior design”
Whether you're interested in 3D design, fine art or painting, bring your ideas to life on an Art & Design course.
