Beauty Therapy Level 3 - Rochelle

Former School(s): Oasis Academy Coulsdon

After visiting an Open Event, Rochelle was impressed with the facilities at East Surrey College and initially enrolled on Art & Design Level 3. She then moved to the Beauty Therapy course and progressed from Level 2 to Level 3. 

Her College studies have been enhanced by a week's work experience at a salon during the Level 2 course, where she had the opportunity to shadow the staff and "take notes on the treatments they were doing. It was really useful to see what I’d been learning in a working environment.”

Now in her final year at College, Rochelle has found that "the course has really helped my confidence and interaction with clients.” She particularly enjoys working on facials and commented that:

“knowing that the lecturers are there is great, the class is small so support is always available. There are always lots of resources available and e-zone is very useful!”

Rochelle and her coursemates benefit from the professional salon on-site, where they are able to practice and perfect their techniques on paying clients.

The former Oasis Academy pupil has now managed to secure a full-time job at a Reigate salon, where she currently works part-time around her days at College. She shared: 

“I’m looking forward to more training opportunities and the chance to see how different treatments are performed. It will also be a great chance for me to improve on my own techniques.”
