Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing Level 3/4 Apprenticeship - Faiszarn
Former School: Westfield Academy, Watford
Faiszarn is currently on an Engineering Apprenticeship, working at University College London (UCL), whilst completing his training through East Surrey College. He was shortlisted at The BAME Apprenticeship Awards 2020! The Awards celebrate talent and diversity among British BAME Apprentices, their employers and Learning Providers, and Faiszarn credits his Apprenticeship at UCL with "allowing me to thrive and excel at an outstanding rate."
He chose the Apprenticeship pathway as "there is no better way to break into an the engineering industry than to learn on the job whilst having a day release at college and also get paid at the same-time."
He enjoys being in the workplace, and is able to see how the experience and knowledge gained at work "helps me complete my college assignments and stay ahead of the curriculum." Equally, his day release on Fridays in the workshop has allowed him to have the basic skills needed to use the machinery at work.
Once he's finished his Apprenticeship, he's hoping to be taken on as a permanent worker at UCL.
