IT Level 3 - Alex

Former School: Congleton High School 

With the aim of seeking new opportunities and furthering her career prospects, Alex travelled down from her home in Cheshire to study in Redhill. When researching courses, she spoke to numerous Colleges but found that:

"ESC were by far the friendliest, I felt that they really wanted to actually help me” 

After studying IT at GCSE, Alex was keen to explore it further and learn more about cyber security. On the course she's been able to build her practical knowledge in all areas of IT and has found that the tutors always point her in the right direction. 

"My time studying BTEC Computing has been an absolutely fantastic experience for me. I am able to explore my passion of computer networking and software development in a supportive environment with incredible teachers – all with industry experience."

Alex was nominated as our Student Union Vice President for 2020/21, working with the College Council to implement changes around the College. Alongside this, Alex has built up her online portfolio outside of College, taking on freelance design and development work. Alex is also a keen volunteer and regularly helps out at local foodbanks. 

"Hopefully I am making a small difference in the world which I would like to be better for all people regardless of their background."

In recognition of her passion and drive, Alex was awarded Silver IT and Computing Learner of the Year at the 2021 National BTEC Awards!
