IT Level 3 - Murtaz

Former School: Greenshaw High School

After completing his GCSEs, Murtaz enrolled onto IT Level 2, after which he then studied Business Level 2, before his current course, IT Level 3! He's on his first year of the course, and initially chose ESC because: 

"It is one of best FE Colleges and the level of support is the one of the best you can get and after leaving, you will be confident in working in the industry."  

Outside of his course, Murtaz spends a lot of time in the Sports Hall, taking part in Enrichment activities, such as Football and Cricket. He explained how this has helped him to feel relaxed and in a good mood. His passion for sport also led him to undertake work experience with local football club Pure FC. He supported the club as an Assistant Coach, and completed admin tasks.

Murtaz got further career insight by joining a National Apprenticeship Week virtual talk with Schlumberger. He commented: 

"This helped me see what it would be like if l worked with that company or similar. The challenging part is adapting to a work environment, normally l am comfortable but it would take time to settle. The dedication l have motivates me and pushes the limits for success." 

When he completes his Level 3 course, Murtaz is hoping to study a Business Degree at university, before pursuing a career as a Business Analyst!
