Photography BA (Hons) Top-Up - Caitlin

Caitlin initially joined ESC on Photography Level 3 and progressed through the 2 year HND qualification to then begin the BA (Hons) Top-Up. 

When applying for her Level 3, Caitlin had visited an Open Event and enjoyed exploring the facilities and finding out about what the course offered: 

"I found it really modern and you had more freedom than school. It was more open and you were treated like an adult.”

When considering her university option, Caitlin commented that the BA Top-Up was the natural progression route from her existing qualifications and that it offered more creative freedom than university. 

From Level 3 to the BA, Caitlin has been able to explore different avenues of photography, including darkroom photography and also a film project, on which she commented "this is the route I would like to go down."

Outside of College, Caitlin has diversified her portfolio with experience as a wedding photographer and has networked with make-up artists, who have secured her opportunities to work as a behind-the-scenes photographer on film sets. 

“I really want to go into the film industry – shooting film stills. It’s a really niche area, so I’m currently building up my contacts.”
