Computing Level 3 Extended Diploma (Full Time)

This is a practical, work-related course, which develops the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to provide a sound, basic IT education. It offers experience in a range of IT skills from web design and Office applications to basic programming and hardware installation, and includes practical assignments. You will also take part in work experience or a work based project during non-college days.

Information Communication Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship (Apprenticeship)

Please note: you must be employed before applying for an Apprenticeship. The broad purpose of the ICT occupation is to deliver efficient operation and control of the IT and/or Telecommunications infrastructure (comprising physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage). The work of an ICT involves undertaking a vast array of specialist roles supporting business critical requirements and focus on customer solutions. Networking, Server, IT Essentials, Secure Communications, programming, and databases are just an example of typical tasks and projects undertaken within the likely areas of employment.

Cloud Computing FdSc (HE Full Time)

This Foundation Degree includes the study of such topics as cloud computing, concepts in software development, networks forensics, computer systems and security, and cloud architecture, all of which will provide solid foundations in understanding the new revolution in data storage and processing through a series of cloud computing services. We will introduce students to a selection of current technologies like cloud architecture and designing for the enterprise so to enable smooth migration of operational and IT solutions to remote cloud services. We will also introduce software and database concepts to delve deeper into the world of cloud computing and data analytics. Students will have the opportunity to use industry-standard tools and services like the ones provided by Amazon's AWS and to develop employability skills through practical projects both in the classroom and the cloud computing platforms. Assessment is undertaken through a range of techniques including assignment work, presentations, short tests, practical tasks, projects, and other modern methodologies. Successful completion of the FdSc Cloud Computing can lead to a wide range of roles including Cloud Administrator, Cloud Architect, Cloud Consultant, Cloud Software (or Network) Engineer, Cloud Data Scientist, or Cloud Security Analyst.

Cyber Security FdSc (HE Full Time)

This Foundation Degree includes the study of such topics as the fundamentals of cyber security, software development, networks forensics, computer systems, ethical hacking, and design principles behind the development of secure IT systems, all of which contribute to the current extraordinary achievements of the Internet and provide solid foundations for the next major iteration of the Web that is being built upon Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies and projects like Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). We will introduce students to a selection of current technologies like network detection of and protection against unsolicited and extraneous network traffic to the organisation, networks simulators like CISCO's Packet Tracer, and penetration testing tools like METASPOIL to probe IT systems vulnerabilities. This topic integrates well within the project-based approach of the programme that reflects 'real life' problems that students can expect to encounter in the world of the cyber security industry. Assessment is undertaken through a range of techniques including assignment work, presentations, short tests, practical tasks, projects, and other modern methodologies. Successful completion of the FdSc Cyber Security can lead to a wide range of roles including Information Security Analyst, Information Security Specialist, Digital Forensic Examiner, Penetration Tester, Ethical Hacker, Security Engineer, or Cyber Security Manager.

Web Technologies & Development FdSc (HE Full Time)

This Foundation Degree includes the study of such topics as client-side and server-side scripting, and database design and implementation using SQL, all of which contribute to the current extraordinary achievements of the Internet and provide solid foundations for the next major iteration of the Web that is being built upon Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies as well as projects like Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). We will introduce students to a selection of current Internet and Web Technologies such as Web Server configuration, network forensics and advanced topics in full stack software development, cloud computing and cyber security which form an integral part of the course. This topic integrates well within the project-based approach of the programme that reflects 'real life' problems that students can expect to encounter in the world of work. As with much of the modern coding paradigm, an oObject-oriented approach will be used fundamentally to develop coding solutions. Assessment is undertaken through a range of techniques including assignment work, presentations, short tests, practical tasks, projects, and other modern methodologies. Successful completion of the FdSc Web Technologies and Development can lead to a wide range of roles including Junior Full Stack Web Developer, Junior Software Developer, IT Project Co-ordinator, Database Administrator, or Database Engineer.
