Design & Development for Engineering & Manufacturing T Level (Full Time)

This course is designed to provide you with the core contexts, concepts and theories required for the Engineering industry and is ideal for those interested in a career in the electrical/electronic engineering industries. This qualification requires a mandatory 315 hours (minimum) industry placement which will develop your technical skills and allow you to apply your knowledge in a workplace environment; in which you must undertake and complete in order to be successfully certified.

Lead maintenance engineering technicians typically perform a multi-disciplinary role, managing or leading other technicians. Apprentices will study a Level 5 BTEC Higher National Diploma at the college and will finish their degree with a Top up year at University. Several local Universities have indicated that they will be offering this as an option. The final assessment consists of IEng accreditation.

General Welder (Arc Processes) Level 2 Apprenticeship (Apprenticeship)

Welding apprentices will receive formal tuition in our workshop alongside theory sessions to support their role in the workplace. This new apprenticeship standard requires the apprentices to pass nationally recognised welder assessments which will include destructive and non-destructive tests carried out by qualified inspection personnel.

Metal Fabricator Level 3 Apprenticeship (Apprenticeship)

Please note you must be employed before applying for an apprenticeship. This Apprenticeship is designed for a career in fabricating and welding a range of metal components. Metal Fabricators use a wide range of products such as channels, rolled steel joists, metal sheet, steel plates and columns to assist in their tasks. Metal Fabricators work with a wide range of metals including aluminium, titanium and steel. Work includes manufacturing bridges, oil rigs, ships, petro-chemical installations, cranes, platforms, aircraft, automotive and machinery parts, sheet metal enclosures, equipment supports, and anything that can be fabricated out of metal. Fabricators can work alone or in teams, in factories or on operational sites.

The course aims to provide the technical knowledge and skills required by today's Retail Motor Industry. It covers the basic systems found on a modern vehicle and the associated background studies including engineering, mathematics and science.
