About the Course
This course has a strong vocational focus and is a nationally recognised qualification for those looking to gain employment in electrical or electronic engineering. You will develop the ability to analyse and solve electronic engineering problems, apply practical knowledge and understanding to digital electronic circuits and devices, electrical systems, fault finding and control systems.
Two A-Levels including Maths and another technical subject (normally Physics), or a BTEC Level 3 National Certificate, Diploma or Extended Diploma in Engineering. Mature applicants will be considered by interview. |

Optional units (three required): Mechatronics // Digital Principles // Electronic Circuit and Devices // Electrical Systems and Fault Finding // Mechanical Principles
The course will be internally assessed through a programme of assignments, projects, case studies and practical activities
An Engineering Higher National Certificate can lead to further progression in the engineering sector. It can also provide the option to top up your Higher National Certificate to a Level 5 Higher National Diploma. This requires you to study a further eight units to complete your HND.
