Grandmentors Networking and Celebration Event

Grandmentors is an award-winning programme that transforms the lives of young people through emotional and practical mentoring support from older volunteers. The volunteer mentors forge trusting and positive relationships that support, challenge and empower mentees to unlock their own skills and to shape their own futures. This programme goes a long way in supporting young people who leave foster or residential care in England.

East Surrey College was fortunate to host its Networking and Celebration Event which welcomed prospective mentors, mentees and representatives from Surrey County Council.

We also heard from current mentors who shared the wonderful work they have been doing with their mentees supporting them with education, training, employment, housing, finance, health and emotional wellbeing.

Attendees were also able to discover the wide range of education and support East Surrey College provides including our Get Ready and LEAP courses, which can support young people on their life journey.
