Sony Employer Engagement Talk

24 September was an exciting day for our Sport, Business, IT, and Engineering students who were visited by Senior Programme Manager of Sony, Richard Thurbon.

Richard gave a fantastic presentation about the tech industry which covered a wide range of topics and provided an in-depth exploration of the opportunities and career paths available within technology.

Richard’s talk emphasised the use of creativity and innovation when working to help inspire the students to consider entertainment as an industry to pursue a career. The presentation also included a chance for students to ask Richard about his career path.

A key message of the talk was to be original and creative and offer something unique to ensure success throughout the interview process.

Lauren Pearson, Business and Professional Studies Coordinator, commented: “Our Level 3 Engineering students were really engaged and found the experience to be incredibly interesting and informative. Thank you to Richard for coming in and providing insight into the industry!”
